The UK butterflies need a little help!

By Jill | July 22nd, 2015

Three-quarters of UK butterflies are in decline and one-third in danger of extinction.

The continued loss of their habitat is a major factor in their falling numbers. We can all help by simply planting attractive plants in our gardens, in pots on windowsills, on a balcony or indeed anywhere outside. The right plants can provide butterflies with a lifeline of food and shelter.

We are trying to promote the very worthwhile campaign to encourage people to help increase butterfly numbers. For further information please see www.bigbutterflycount.org.

Here at the nursery we have indicated which plants are particularly good for attracting butterflies – look out for our special butterfly signs!
