'Trees for Small Gardens'

Wednesday 16th April 2008 - 11.00am to 1.00pm

Course Fee £20.00

Every garden has a space for trees, the trick is knowing the best ones to plant to give you year round colour, interest and even perhaps food!

Correct planting techniques, watering and aftercare will help to ensure years of pleasure from your trees so this relaxed informative session covers these aspects too.

'Summer Pruning of Trained Fruit Trees'

Wednesday 9th July 2008 - 10.30am to 12.30pm

Course Fee £20.00

Espaliers, fans, cordons, stepovers, 'S'shaped - whatever you want to achieve or look after, this course is for you.

Good pruning will help encourage maximum growth and fruiting from these delightful trees.

'Focus on Fruit'

Thursday 30th October 2008 - 10.00am to 3.30pm

Course Fee £56.00 - RHS Members £46.00

Growing conditions, planting techniques, rootstock selection, training & pruning techniques & organic management. How we produce apple trees - to include a tour of the Nursery production area. Pollination groups - choosing your varieties & storing your fruit.

'The Ancient Art of Grafting'

Wednesday 11th February 2009 - 10.00am to 3.30pm

Course Fee £56.00

The Theory and demonstration of this ancient craft - discussions on why graft, the tools, rootstocks, scion wood, compatibility and aftercare. 2 hour practical - practice with knife work and different woods. Graft a tree to take away with you.
