FILL THOSE GAPS WITH LATE-SUMMER COLOUR!

By Jill | August 3rd, 2013

August is one of my least favourite months – often long hot sultry days and dry rock-hard ground can lead to a lack of colour in the garden – but here at the nursery we have just the answer!

We have a fantastic range of late-summer flowering shrubs and perennials ideal for a splash of late-season colour into the autumn. ¬†We have Penstemons in three different colours – Verbena bonariensis to give height and that wonderful see-through effect – Crocosmia and Lobelia ‘Queen Victoria’ for a really hot injection of colours – and if you are trying to attract butterflies into the garden -we have some wonderful Buddleias too! Add in Hardy Fuchsias, Caryopteris, Potentillas and Abelias – there is enough to give colour right into October!!

And if the ground is too hard and dry to plant – do what I do – and plant up some big pots and place them in the borders to fill the gaps – an instant fix!!

UNTIL NEXT TIME,

RICHARD
