THE SCENT OF SPRING

By Jill | April 28th, 2014

The nursery is full of scent and colour at the moment – the fantastic weather has brought the plants into flower in one big rush – quite spectacular really!

From the heady scent of Lilac – to the subtle fragrance of Apple Blossom – we have many beautiful plants in flower  – and the way this spring is going – they will be over and gone before we have a chance to really enjoy them!  These lighter evenings are great for getting out in the garden after work – and that is when the scent is at it’s best – as the cooler dampess of evening arrives!

Make time – inject some scent into your garden this spring!

NEW SPRING STOCK NOW IN!

By Jill | April 7th, 2014

We have had two huge lorries into the nursery recently – and out of the back of them have come some very nice spring goodies!!

Some old favourites such as Photinia ‘Red Robin’ – in lots of different sizes – and also Bamboos – both green and black-stemmed.  Some nice Texan Privets – and the Japanese form as well.   Griselinia – some nice size plants of these.

But we also have one or two slightly-more unusual items – a Japanese upright Euonymus – ‘Benkomasaki’ – very nice – also Euonymus alatus – Winged Spindle.  Several different types of Pittosporum – ‘Argyrophyllum’, ‘Variegata’, ‘Tom Thumb’, ‘Irene Patterson’ – and ‘Purpurea’ .

We also have some nice scented Viburnums – some lovely scented dwarf Lilacs – Syringa ‘Palibin’ – plus Exochorda ‘The Bride’ – and loads more besides!!

With the recent rain – this is a great time to boost your spring garden – get planting!

UNTIL NEXT TIME,

RICHARD
