A useful drop of rain at the nursery in the last few days – this is very welcome indeed. It is incredible that in January and February we were under water almost constantly – and yet in March and especially April – virtually no rain fell at all!

This time of the year we turn our attention to the Suffolk Show – and our huge stand in the Floral Marquee.  Hard landscaping and planning has been underway since January – but the plant side of it has to be left closer to the show dates.  Last year was a challenge since everything was a month behind in flower – so we had to force a great deal of stock to ensure plenty of flower – but this year it is the opposite!  The warmth of April and lack of any hard frost in winter – has pushed all of the spring flowers out in one great glorious rush – our old show favourites such as Wisteria and Laburnum are all out now – so will be long gone by the end of the month.

It is amazing to think that we had a Model Orchard stand last year – with apple blossom fully out – this year most of it has already gone over!!   It seems that there is going to a lot of colourful foliage in this year’s display – still it keeps us on our toes!

The Suffolk Show is on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th May at the Trinity Park Showground, Ipswich – do come into the Floral Marquee and say Hello – we would love to see you!
